ABOUT US!
Great Songs of the Sky is a nonprofit organization
dedicated to healing through the arts.

We began in 2005 as a tribute concert to the Music of
Donovan Leitch.  As a concert group we performed
with 12-16 vocalists and a five piece band, singing
35-40 new arrangements of Donovan songs, with the
music traveling through the four seasons as they
parallel the cycle of life.

The concert was originally conceived by music
director Lucy D'Mot, and co-produced by American
River College, Sacramento CA and The Fair Oaks
Theatre Festival, Fair Oaks CA.

This Tribute Concert -
Great Songs of the Sky -
performed for a six week run in August & September
of 2005, to enthusiastic audiences & great local
reviews.

In 2006,
Great Songs of the Sky continued performing
throughout Northern California, and in August traveled
to the largest theatre festival in the world - the
Edinburgh Fringe Festival - once again receiving
critical acclaim.

In 2007, in addition to continuing with the concert,
Great Songs of the Sky became a nonprofit
organization dedicated to healing through the arts.

In 2008,
Great Songs of the Sky performs the
Donovan concert, inviting a larger segment of the
community to participate, whilst performing the
concert to benefit other local & healing charities,
including
Snowline Hospice and The Andy Hoover
Trust Fund,
.

Additional efforts in 2008 include presenting afford-
able house concerts by professional musicians,
teaching and performing middle eastern and folk
dance, music, and offering classes, lectures and
exhibits in both participatory and audience capacities,
in multiple art forms.
Great Songs of the Sky Mission Statement
